Ingrown Hair is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. After the hairs nest under the skin and this area is infected, abscess formation and flix are observed. The disease is more common in men and under 40 years of age. For those who sit for a long time, minor traumas such as movement changes cause clogs and abscesses in hair roots in this airless and humid environment.

Treatment

In the presence of acute abscess, an incision should be made to discharge the inflammatory material.

Surgical treatment is usually required for chronic or recurrent hair loss.

Surgical treatment options are varied. Early stage patients can be treated with laser guidance. Opening the skin and subcutaneous tissue on the diseased area, cleaning the cyst contents, removing diseased tissue and leaving the wound open, closing the wound after the patient tissue is removed, and closing the wound by removing the diseased area and then closing the wound tissue (flap shifting) are the operations that can be performed. In open surgery, the need for dressing will take longer and wound healing will be late. However, success rates are high and the probability of recurrence is low.
